Hogle Zoo

I wanted to get out and enjoy the great weather, so Charlotte and I got up and ready and headed to Hogle Zoo.

I knew that taking her by myself could be challenging and it was , at times. She was pretty good and behaved most of the time. Right when we entered the zoo she wanted out of the stroller and wanted to walk on her own. Thank goodness I had her puppy backpack with us. It was a life saver. She walked maybe 3/4 of the time.

Once she was able to see the animals, she loved looking at them. Pointing, talking, trying to climb the fences to get to them.

I really wanted to capture her looking at the animals and get them in the picture with her, so that is why you see her back a lot.

After walking around and checking out the animals it was time for a little shopping. Near the Tigers, there is a souviners shop so that is where she went.

This store was full of stuffed animals, and all kinds of trinkets. What does my practical girl end up wanting? A cup with a straw.

I was thankful for that. She does not need another stuffed toy.
So, as I was paying, and she was digging through the cups. She ended up collecting 3 and darted out of the store, back over to the tigers. I had to leave everything behind in the store to chance after the little cup thief. She really wanted that cup.
It was a great way to celebrate turning 32.
Any day spent getting out with Charlotte is a great day.

Splash !

(I love her in her little swimsuit)

This morning I made a last minute decision to take Charlotte to a splash park. I wanted to get out and take her someplace I could handle her alone, since those places seem to be far and few between anymore, this is what I came up with.

It took her a little while to warm up to the place since there were a lot of kids running around, but when she finally did....she had a great time. Adjacent to the splash park is a small playground where she was about half the time. Up the stairs, down the slide. Repeat this about million times.
Now I wish they would put on of these closer to the house. It was fun, free, and really out of the way, but we will definitely do it again.

Olympic Fountain

Over the weekend we visited the Olympic Fountain at Gateway. It was a beautiful day, and we thought it would be a great idea to let Charlotte get out and run around in the water. Just look at her face. She honestly had the best time, and we had a great time watching her.

Westfest 2010

This past weekend joined in the festivities and had some fun at Westfest. We browsed the booths, watch the WVPD do a K-9 demonstration and went on many many rides. Charlotte loves to take a ride on the Carousal. Steve has been elected as the parent to take her on all these rides. I have never been one for them and neither has my stomach. He really enjoys it and did say that was his favorite part of the afternoon. Watching his little girl have fun on the rides, and going on some with her.

Of course I had to have some fun, so Steve suggested we take a ride on the bumper cars. That was so much fun. I later had the worst headache from all the constant hitting I was subjected to. Thanks Steve.

We really did have a great time, and it seems as if summer is off to a great start.

Smile

Love, Love, LOVE this girl

Summer Fun

Summer has finally arrived, and with that means sprinklers. This was Charlotte's first time with the sprinklers, so we went low key by just turning on one. She was a little hesitant , but I think she really loved it and I know Steve loved it too.

The "Real" Deal

Last night my mom was one of 70 nurses honored at the Real soccer game. She and the other nurses and family members carried the flag out of the field just before the game.

Charlotte loved the music and just being out. What a showoff.

Waterfall

The other day I bought a hanging plant. I got it hung up in the yard and watered it. Charlotte thought it would be fun to stand under the stream of water coming from the bottom of the plant. So cute !
