Awkward

Steve being the best guy ever got me Merry Maids to help me out around the house. They just got here and it is so awkward feeling. As I sit here on my butt blogging and watching American Next Top Model, I have 2 strangers in my home who are going to clean every room. Of course I had to pick up my house so they did not come over and think we are total slobs.I feel like I should be upstairs with them helping out, but like Steve says " we are paying them good money, so just sit on your butt and relax".

This is going to be a long 2 hours for me. Plus I am hungry, but I do not want to make myself lunch while they are here.

Charlottes 2 week Check-up

Yesterday was Charlotte's 2 week Check-up, and it went great. She weighs 7lbs 12 oz and is getting bigger everyday. She is in the 60th percentile and for weight and she is in the 90th percentile for length. She is growing so fast.

Finally !!!

Steve and I are back in the same bed. We had been in separate beds going on 3 weeks and I was missing him.
Week 1 he was sick, and since I was still pregnant I chose to sleep in the guest room so I would have less of a chance of getting sick.
Week 2 I had had Charlotte and spent 2 days in the hospital and the remainder of week 2 into week 3 Charlotte and I shared a bed while Steve slept in the guest room.

Saturday Steve went and bought me a baby monitor so that Charlotte could sleep in her room, and I would have some piece of mind not having her near me in the night and worrying about her. The best thing about this monitor is I can watch her. In her room there is a little camera attached to the monitor, and on the handheld there is a screen and I can watch her. I love it. I can have the screen on or off, but the sound is always on. Charlotte is a dreamer, and I always talking in her sleep. the monitor is great since every time she makes a sound a I do not have to get up and check on her. I just click my screen on and she what she is doing. The first night I do not think I slept at all. I kept watching the monitor so I could constantly see her and what she was doing. It has gotten easier every night, but I am still constantly checking in on her....I just do not have to go into her room.

She has done so well sleeping in her room. She is such a big girl already.

2 weeks

I will not lie. The last 2 weeks have been a major adjustment. many tears have been shed between myself and Charlotte, and sweet Steve has been there and comforted us both. I no longer get my daily shower, or a hot meal. My daily outfits consist of pajama bottoms, and a t-shirt. My make-up is never done, nor is my hair. most nights when Steve gets home I hand off Charlotte to him just so I can go to the restroom. i feel that my house is in shambles, and when I can get around to picking stuff up, it just us not enough to get the place looking decent. Everyday I am either pooped on, peed on or vomited on. Daily i feel lazy, because when Charlotte naps I tend to take a mini nap myself, hence why nothing around my house gets done.

I continue to feel caged, but am nervous to take Charlotte anywhere in fear of her getting sick. Even going to the pediatrician office scares me. Everyone tells me I have to get out, but I can't. I am just freaked.

Charlotte is a pretty easy going baby. When she is fussy I know she is either wet, hungry, and has gas. She is starting to sleep better through the night. She eats about every 2 hours, and will take a 4 hr nap daily.

We both love having her here with ud and enjoy every moment.
We love our little Charlotte LaRue.

1 week old

We can not believe that Charlotte is already a week old. It has been quite a week. A week of adjustments, learning patience, and emotions flying high.
Things are starting to get on track, and we are learning as we go. We love having her here with us and we feel so blessed.

***I have a video to post but am lame and can not figure out how to post it. When my brain starts working again I will work on it.

our little family

Here we are. It still seems so unreal. Steve and I have a beautiful baby girl. She is beautiful, healthy and doing great. We both could not be happier.
