Birthday Week - Day 2

Today Charlotte spent a lot of the day in her pajamas.I had an appointment early in the morning, so Grandma Bonnie came over watched Char for a little bit. We were a little off schedule the rest of the day. A late breakfast, followed by a late lunch and again, a non existent nap. We made a bracelet out of boondoggle and beads. She loves it.  I did manage to make dinner. Homemade Chicken Parmesan.

After dinner there was  gift from Grandma and Grandpa Nash that needed to be opened. She was pretty excited when we brought the box inside. They sent her a Tinkerbell Snow Globe. After opening she became frustrate because she wanted to get Tinkerbell out and hold her. It is a great gift.

Birthday Week - Day 1

Today was pretty low key and not too eventful. We had some errands to run, so we ran to a few stores where Charlotte picked herself out a present ( Toy Story bubble bath), and ordered her birthday cake.

After an non successful attempt at her taking a nap, she chilled in her chair watching a little Timmy Time.

The night ended with a bath, and an early bedtime for the girl .
The other night I turned on the TV for Char while I cooked dinner. After a few minutes I could hear laughter. she was laughing and giggling up a storm.

Valentines Day 2011

I got into Valentines Day more than I have any other.
This morning for breakfast I made Charlotte heart shaped scrambled egg and cheese rolls. They were delicious and she loved every bite of it.

Later in the day we went and met Grandma Jean. We went to lunch were Charlotte ended up eating my Cobb salad, and I got her kids meal.

The rest of the day we hung out at home. Watched Toy Story 3 and made dinner. A little before bedtime we gave Charlotte her Valentine.

(I forgot all about it until 7pm).

She loved everything she got and wore her sunglasses, upside down, around the house the rest of the night. Sweet angel.

(Basket, 2 coloring books, a headband, sunglasses, kitty book, and chocolates)

It was GRAND

For Valentines, Steve swept me away to downtown Salt Lake. We stayed at the amazing Grand America Hotel, and had an amazing time. It was great to get away for night and have time for just the two of us. We arrived at the hotel near 2pm. Walked Gateway for sometime, and just spent time together. It has been a long time since we have been able to just walk, and go to the stores we wanted to go. After walking we headed back to the hotel to relax for dinner. I took a nice long hot bath. The silence was wonderful.
6pm was dinner, and oh what a wonderful dinner it was. It felt like it was 12 courses. I think we were there for about 2 hours just eating, talking and being together. Steve made a very sweet, lovely toast to me.
The rest of the night we hung out in our room, and chilled.
I love being home with Charlotte and I would not change a think. But, it sure was nice to get away for a night.

Charlotte - 23 Months

This last month has really been a fun one. Nothing specific just Charlotte being Charlotte. She is a ball of energy. Always laughing and smiling. She has become very generous with giving hugs and kisses. When ever Steve comes home from work she runs up to him and gives him a huge hug. When shopping she does not want to ride in the cart any longer. She insist on walking which more times than not it works out. Of course, sometimes she does not listen, or tries to run off. When this happens, she is in the cart strapped in. And yes, I become that mother with the screaming child in the shopping cart. One of her new loves this month is Subway. Yes, Subway sandwiches. She picks everything off and lines them up. She eats all the meat and vegetables and usually hands me the bread.
She insists on turning on every light in the house, and close every door. She comes running to the kitchen when she hears me getting a cup of ice, because she knows what I put it. Diet Coke. She is also my shadow. She follows me everywhere. Even if I leave for the room for a minute she is right there with me. she will not get into her toy box unless I do. She will not play in her room unless I initiate it and participate. She needs to be entertained. Nap time is still a go. She takes one a day, and if I am lucky she will sleep for about 2 hours.

The not so fun part of the last month has been the tantrums. She has become a pro at throwing them. Lying on the floor and crying. This happens at the store, the gym, at the house. Anywhere really. Is it bad I just leave her there on the floor?
We think that she is just beautiful, and wonderful, and amazing.

I scream, You scream

this girl knows how to eat ice cream.
