Cars, Festival, and Fireworks

Saturday morning, Charlotte, myself and Grandma Jean ventured to the movie theater and went to see Cars 2. Yes ! It was a cute movie, and Yes! we had a great time. But, I learned something from this little experience. Arrive 20 minutes late, since they insist on showing previews before kids movies. Don't they realize I am already running on borrowed time?
15 minutes into the movie Charlotte became restless, and I become that mother. The one sitting on the stairs trying to entertain a toddler. The one walking her up and down the stairs. The one trying to keep her quiet. However. There were moments where she sat and watched the movie, devoured the popcorn and Diet Coke.  After it all... I would say that it was a great time, and that Yes! I would do it again.

After a much needed nap, we lounged around the house before Grandma came over and we headed over to West Fest for snow cones, and carnival rides.

Then we were off to Carla and Jacks (grandma jeans friend) for a BBQ and Fireworks.
Charlotte was definitely in her element. There were a tons of kids for her to play with, and tone of new toys to keep her entertained.

Time Off

I feel like I had the night off. Of course that is after I made dinner, cleaned up dinner, and vacuumed.
Charlotte followed Steve all over the yard tonight and it was a welcome break.
I just sat back, watched and took pictures.
It was great !

Landscape

This is what consumed my Sunday afternoon.
Steve and I cleaned up the shrubs which line the backyard. This is a project that has been on the to do list for a long time. Who knew under all that there was a rock border and large decorative boulders. It is going to look really good when it is finished. We are 1/3 of the way done.

Here is what is left to do. This is what the above picture looked like before.

Yes, it was a major pain, but it will be worth it in the end.

In case of an emergency...

...Charlotte has got her shoes on and is ready to run.
Just recently she has started putting her shoes on by herself. And, since then she is constantly wearing them. I take them off, and she puts them back on.

Memorial Day

Traditionally Steve, Charlotte and myself go to Tracey Aviary on Memorial Day. But, being that is was raining, and just about 50 degrees, we held a small family BBQ at the house.

UpDaTe

My job is going really great. I work for an amazing company. The people I work with are fantastic, and I LOVE working on a movie. In the end, accounting is accounting, so to be able to work on a movie where things are a little different from the daily corporate accounting is great and somewhat refreshing.  Also, I have never worked for a company who is so laid back.  Dress is jeans, and t-shirts everyday. Sometimes the building is open before 9, but a lot of times it is around 930 that the doors are open.  Which has really been a blessing because I do not have to rush Charlotte in the morning.

Charlotte has adjusted incredibly well  to Daycare. Seems she does not need me anymore. I take her to her class where we hear "Charlotte" from all the kids. I set her down and she just walks away from me.  I am happy that she is happy there,  but would it be too much to ask for a little hug before she walks away from me? However, I do receive a huge hug when I pick her up at the end of the day.

Steve is working his little heart out. I call Home Depot his "other family". He has been working 6 days a week for the last few months, and is really looking forward to his break from that in the summertime, before it starts again in the fall. He has been a huge help at home with helping me with meals, and cleaning things up at the end of the day. He works so hard and we both really appreciate all her does. We love him!
