Transitions - Big Girl Bed

I must say that I am surprised at how smoothly this transition has been. I was expecting many nightly trips from Charlotte to my bed. But, alas the little lady has not gotten out of her bed once in the night. When bedtime comes, she climbs right into her bed and lies down. However, I do have to sit there with her for about 10 minutes while she starts falling asleep then she is there the rest of the night.

Quiet Time

The other day it seemed as if  "Quiet Time" was a little to quiet.
(FYI...I had just finished putting her laundry away)

Sickness

I do not like it when Charlotte is sick. However there is one good thing. She only wants her mom, and loves to snuggle.

Baby

She will make a GREAT big sister.
(NO ! This is not an announcement)

Bad Habits

Another bad habit created by Steve. Charlotte now loves to play in the car, and now when ever I need to get somewhere which requires taking the car is a NIGHTMARE!
It is near impossible to get her to now sit in her seat. She wants to be in the drivers seat.

Winter Coat

When it is 10 degrees outside she will not get near her coat. But, when it is 50 degrees outside she wants to wear it inside. Sometimes this kid drives me bonkers.

Cling-ons

Charlotte loves these gel cling-ons. We buy them every season and they provided hours of entertainment. Only negative, is she ends up tearing them apart, so do not last long.

Charlotte - 2 Years

2 years and what great, wonderful 2 years it has been. Lots of smiles, tears, kisses, hugs, and LOTS of learning.  As I look back at pictures, I can not believe how much time has passed, and how quickly it passed.

Here are some amazing facts about her.
  • She continues to amaze me at the things that she does. She picks things up from observing what is going on around her. She has started singing, putting words together, climbing to the top of jungle gyms, dressing herself (trying). She loves shoes. Jelly shoes are her favorite. She also puts on my heels and walks the hall way.

  • I have been very lucky. Charlotte is a great eater. She loves fruits and vegetables.  A salad bar is the best things ever. She will eat everything available.  However there are a few thing I can not get her to eat, and they are scrambled eggs, oatmeal, and most meats(unless it is on a subway sandwich).

  • She is such a tender loving little girls Constantly giving hugs and kisses. She too will cradle your face, or caress your checks.

  • Movies ! She loves movies. Currently her favorites are Snow White, Over the Hedge, and Timmy Time. She loves to sit on her rocker and watch them on her DVD player. Her stuffed Jessie and Woody dolls are still are a must, have go everywhere with us.

  • She has started putting things away. When she is done playing with her toys, she will sometimes place them back in her toy box. She will put her shoes in her closet, and if there is a piece of  paper on the floor she will place it in the trash.
She continues to be such an amazing little girl and such a blessing in our life.

Charlotte - 2yr Pictures

I am in love love LOVE.
Daily I look at these and cannot believe how great they turned out, how big she has become and just how beautiful she is.

.

Birthday Day - Part 2 - The Birthday Party

After giving Charlotte her Jammin Jeep it was time to head out to the birthday party.
Jungle Jim's, here we come.

I think that the party was a huge success. Charlotte had a lot of loved ones come out to celebrate her big day. Jungle Jim's was just great. It allowed all the kids to run around and go crazy. We all ate Pizza and Cupcakes. Rode rides and played games.  Socialized and laughed. Over the last few days I have been thinking about the party, and it just seems so surreal. That I am where I am. Having a toddler, holding kid birthday parties.
I love it.

I have watched this video so many times. I love that she is picking at the frosting on her cake, and is looking around at everyone singing Happy Birthday to her. Clearly, all she wants to do it dive her face into the frosting.
This video makes my heart super happy.

Birthday day - Part 1

Charlotte's birthday was packed full. In the morning we rushed to eat breakfast, get Charlotte bathed, and ready for the 2yr pictures to be taken. See them HERE. After pictures and lunch it was near 2o'clock, and this birthday girl so desperately needed a nap since later we had a party to get to.
After a much needed nap, and a little before party time was gave Charlotte her birthday present. Steve was so excited to give this to her. He had it all planned out. Her gift was just inside the garage. So, we went out the front door and took her over to the garage. I love these pictures. You can see her walking to the garage, watching the garage door open, and then realizing what is just inside.

She got a Pink Jammin Jeep, and a new Olivia doll. In the beginning it seemed she liked the doll more. After all, Olivia is her favorite. Then the Jeep fun began She is so cute with it. Opening the doors to get in and out, working the radio. It took her sometime to figure out that you have to hold the peddle down and not just press and release it.  Once she figured this out she was all over the place. Down the sidewalk, on the grass, nearly into the rocks. She has yet to realize that she has to steer the car.

Birthday Week - Day 3

Again, another slow start to the day. We spent the morning playing and dancing around the house.

Later we met Grandma Jean for lunch. We enjoyed Sampan, Diet Coke, and a little shopping too. We had to cut the afternoon short since I had a dentist appointment. While there, Steve and Charlotte dusted off the wagon and took a stroll around the neighborhood, and enjoyed the warmer weather playing in the front yard. Once I returned home, we headed to Steve's office to pick up a forgotten item. Charlotte of course flirted and played with everyone in the office. On the way home the two of them got McDonald's for dinner.
