Completion

Saturday I wanted to get my outside pots planted, so off to the local garden center. As usual, more things where acquired than we had originally planned. I needed potting soil so we ended up at the Home Improvement store, and one thing lead to another.... and we got ourselves intwined in a major project. Hours later and 16 bags of bark and 12 rows of border, we completed the corner piece of the lawn.
I HATED this section of the yard. I could never get it to look good. Even after I had finished weeding, and tilled the dirt, it just looked unfinished. Now with the small improvement, the corner looks great. . It really completes the look of the yard.
Could we have chosen a hotter day to work on this? Low 90's we were working in.

Me....Run (walk) a 10k? Can I do this?

My dear dear friend Shannon has convinced me that I need to run the Days of 47 10k marathon with her. All you you who know me know that I am not an avid runner. Shannon on the other hand runs marathons all the time. My fear is not that I can not finish the race (with several stops), but that I will hold her back, and that can get frustrating for a runner. Even though she says that she will not care, and that she just wants us to do this together.
I have been "training" at the gym. Trying to get my endurance up there, but I think that there is no hope. There is still a little over 2 months until the race, and we are going to start running together.
Maybe she will change her mind once she sees for herself that this may be a worthless effort.

Cancer Walk 2008

This was our 3rd year walking in the Susan G. Koman Walk for the Cure, and we had so much fun.I love participating in this event. Every year our team gets bigger as so does the number of participants. This year there were over 17,000 persons either walking or running for the cure.It is amazing how many people come out every year to show support for cancer survivors and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives to breast cancer.It is such an awesome sight when the race begins. Thousands of people running in a common goal all Cheer Leaders for someone they know.

My mom added another ribbon to her hat this year. Every year the race committee gives the survivors ribbons to put on their hat to symbolize their years of survival. She is now sporting 5 ribbons. Go Mom!

For the last three years, I have walked, and my goal is to run this next year, and every year going forward. I hope to keep participating in this event.

David Archuleta : Murray's American Idol

If you do not know who David Archuleta is by now...you need to crawl out from underneath that rock you have been living under, but even if you don't.... you will. Friday afternoon was so much fun. David returned to Murray High for a huge pep-ralley. In the beginning I was a little reluctant to go since it was every-man for himself,and I knew it was going to be extremely crowded, and it was supposed to rain. Well, I am all about the hook-up, so myself and my family pulled the connection card. My uncle is the Principal at Murray High, so after sitting in the facility bleachers for sometime,we were feed up and wanted better seats. So just minutes before David came out,we walked down to the stage....pulled to card...and we were in. It was such a fun time, and I am so glad that I went. David sang 3 songs, and he is even more amazing live that on television. At the end of it all it was a great time.

We are down to the final three on American Idol and we went David to win so ....VOTE !!!
