Christmas Eve
This year like all the others in the past, we had our family Christmas eve party over at my aunts home. As always we had a great time and great food. I ate way too much. Instead of bringing a $20.00 gift we decided to bring white elephants. I must say, that gift I received was the best of all. It was a pussy cat dolls VHS, and a pair of 5x tighty whities. Lovely!. Thank goodness they will be re-gifted next week. Steve got an old truck drivers jacket with the name the Wes embroidered on it.
It was a great night.

Scrooge???
This is the first year I have felt like NOT putting up a Christmas tree. I have all my other decorations up. I have a set of smaller trees that go beside my fireplace, with a wreath above the mantel. All light up, plus 3 glowing wreaths in my front window.
I do not have the energy to put up a tree, get it fluffed, decorated, and then take it all back down. When I get home from wok all I want to do I crawl into bed, and just the thought of putting the tree up is exhausting to me. So this year there is no Christmas tree at the Nash household. Am I a total scrooge?
Here is the extend of my decorating this year.

Guest Room
After a month of putting off painting the guest room, I finally mustered up the energy the other weekend to get it painted. Just the other night Steve and I got the room put back together and it finally looks like a finished room. We found a great 6x4 rug on clearance at Bed Bath and Beyond for $24.99, and I had a wreath from my mother that I placed over the headboard. The paint, comforter, and rug work great with the new floors and I could not be happier. This is just one more thing I can mark off of my to do list.

Twilight

These have been the best 2 weekends. First the NKOTB concert, and then the Twilight movie. Finally! I have been waiting for this for a very long time.
All in all I enjoyed the movie, but thought it had a few flaws. Now only did Edwards skin look like he rolled around in a pile of glitter, some of the special effects of him running through the forest was lame looking. I know that the special effects now days are better than they were in the movie. Also, if you had not read the books, and did not know anything about the story you would totally be lost. There were times in the theater the crowd would snicker because we knew Edward just heard what someone across the room was saying, or why he was acting the way he did the first time Bella walked into biology. If Steve went me to see it, he would wonder what we were laughing at. The story line seemed a little choppy.
I will still buy the movie when it is released on DVD because I love the characters and the story. I just hope that as they continue to make the other books into movies they fix the flaws in Twilight.

Pink in the Rink

Steve and I went to a grizzles game earlier in the week and now we are headed to another one. Every year the Grizzles do Pink in the Rink. Ice is pink, and the team wears pink jerseys. A portion of the proceeds go to the Susan G. Koman Foundation.
Should be a good time. If you have never been to a game you need to go. They are a lot of fun.

iRobot mini review
I LOVE IT.
When I got home from work yesterday Steve had it all set up and charged. I did not realize how much hair and dust had collected on my floors. I sweep them often, but can not get into and under every corner and item of furniture. It worked so well, and when it is done, it chimes and turns off. Also, it DID recognize the stairs. I was worried it would take a tumble, but once it realized they were there it turned right around.
We purchased it at Costco for $270. I know, it seems expensive, and that is one reason I was so hesitant in buying it, but it will help out a lot with keeping the dander and dust to a minimum now and when the baby is here.
So as they say....set it and forget it.

Christmas music already ?
Everyday I listen to the radio at work. Well, I have become tired of the stations I like listening to and some of the new songs are pretty annoying. So I decided to change my station to 100.3. The music is appropriate for the work place, and can be relaxing. To my surprise they are playing Christmas music. I love Christmas music but is this not a little early. I thought I would give the station a chance,They can not be playing Christmas music every song. Well in the last 30 minutes that is all I have heard.
I will tired of Christmas music before Christmas is even here

iRobot

Well I finally gave into Steve's idea and we bought an iRobot. With all the wood floors we now have though out the house it was only inevitable I would give in. It is still in the box,but I am sure I will fall in love with it. Our main reason for buying this is for the baby. With 4 animals is the house, we get a lot of animal hair and dust on the floors, and everywhere else. Yesterday I noticed a rather large dust bunny on my bedroom floor, and that is what finally convinced me. This iRobot will vacuum under all my furniture (beds, dressers, sofa), and it will vacuum the rugs too. I can set it do all the rooms and the hallway upstairs and forget about it. One of my favorite fetures is when it is done, it finds its way to its charger and charges up for the next day.
I will test it this weekend.

Wood Floors are finished.
It is 8:30 in the morning and the last coat of semi-gloss has been applied. I am so glad this project is done. I have been dreading it for some time. . If anyone needs floors laid or refinished I have a great guy. He was a referral to me and I would refer him to anyone. Not only was he priced extremely reasonable...he is friendly and great to work with. He will be back in a few weeks to lay hardood on my steps leading upstairs.
I am just so glad to have that old/smelly carpet out of the house.

Wood Floors : Day 2
We are almost there. This project is almost over and I could not be happier.
Reason 1: I get to sleep in my bedroom again, and not in the basement
Reason 2: I can take down my lovely plastic walls, and let the animals run around.
Reason 3: I can use the front door instead of opening the garage door to get out front
Reason 4: I now have antique wood floors that have been under carpet for over 40 years, I can finally get base board down, and finish this small remodeling project that I started over a year ago.

Wood Floors : Preparation Day 2
I am exhausted already.Even though I could not lift a lot of the furniture, I had the job of prepping all the dresser drawers, removing all bedding, Aden managing all the small items such as picture and other nic-nacs displayed. We will be sleeping in the basement until this weekend. Now that all the rooms are empty....it was time to face the closets. Hope this does the job.

Since there is no room to place anything else in the garage I decided to utilize space that no one would be using for the next week.

Wood Floors : Preparation Day 1
Remove all furniture from 3 Bedrooms and the Living Room. It is a good thing I have a large garage to hold everything. It really did not seem like that much furniture until we put everything out into the garage. This garage is packed full. Not only is it housing all the furniture, it also has 3 cars parked in it and a motorcycle.

Giant Tomato's
I do not know what kind of tomato's I planted, but they are huge. Not only is the plant taking up my planting, and starting to cover the light( plant is larger that in the picture. The picture is old), the tomato's are enormous. I have never seen tomato's this big. I have way too many to eat. Maybe I will make salsa. Any one ever made it before?
These pictures do not do my tomatoes justice.
