"trick-or-treat"

Tonight we did our first Trick-or-treating. Although we did not go to too many houses, we still had fun. I did feel a little strange ringing doorbells and saying "trick-or-treat". I mean, it has been at least 20 yrs since I had done it last. Charlotte was out of control. She was running all over the place, unsure as of what to do. She was just happy to be out in the rain.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !

Boo at the Zoo 2010

I think this may be our new Halloween tradition. We had so much fun, and Charlotte was a dream. It was very crowded, and kids were running everywhere. But, non the less it was a great time

Here is Charlotte trying on Steve's Halloween costume.

Auf Wiedersehen

For the last week I have been counting down the days for Charlotte's cast to be removed. Then yesterday into today I started counted the hours. It has been a long 6 weeks for me. Thank goodness the weather was still warm, and she was still able to wear tank tops and dresses. Charlotte really had not seemed bothered by having her arm limited as to what it could do. If anything she figured out that it could be used as a weapon. My reasons for wanting to get this cast off was really simple. It was stinky, and I mean really stinky. From the food, to her being sick. A lot of "stuff" had stuck to it without being able to remove it.
The doctor was very positive about how her arm healed and said that she is at a low risk of breaking it again. It healed absolutely perfect.

So long and farewell the to stinky pink cast.
We will not miss you.

Birthday Boy

Charlotte - 19 Months

The lady is 19 months and she runs this household. She is so funny and is constantly making me laugh, which in turn makes her laugh. So, we sit and laugh at each other. Her vocabulary is continuing to grow. At times it is very clear what she is saying, and others it is as if she is speaking her own language.

Daily she has a meltdown. It can strew from not wanting to take her nap, or not being allowed outside since she has been sick.

It seems that she now has a blanket. She brings it with her downstairs first thing in the morning, and when she is not feeling well it is her bottle and her blanket which are what comforts her the most.

She enjoys playing games such as Tickle Monster, and Hide and Seek. When she can not find me she runs around yelling "MA!"
Charlotte is only taking one nap a day, and it last from 2 to 2.5 hours. She wakes about 7-730 every morning, and is in bed by 8 every night. This schedule has seemed to be working really well.
In this last month Charlotte has had broken her arm, a terrible cold, and is currently getting over a yucky stomach bug. There has been a lot of time spent at home due to this, but we have both been managing fine.
She continues to amaze us everyday.

24 pen pick-up

Charlottes new favorite thing is to sit at the counter, and play with the pens. As much as I love that it makes her happy. I am becoming tired of picking up the pens over and over and over.

But with a smile like that, I will pick them up all day long.

Down on the farm

Saturday we went out in the morning, and ventured to Wheeler Farm. We feed the ducks, petted to Goats and played in the dirt. We wanted to take a wagon ride, but nap time was upon us, and I did not want to even test those waters. Before we left we took Charlotte through the Corn maze. She was a great follower, but she did become frustrated a few times when she hit a few dead ends and could not get to Steve. At the end of the maze she was able to choose a pumpkin to take home.
