Welcome Home Leo

For the last few month, steve and I have noticed this white kitten coming into the yard through our back gate. For those of you who don’t know, along our back fence we have several evergreen shrubs, which homes a colony of birds. As we have been watching her,we noticed her watching the birds, coming in and out of the shrubs trying to get them. A few times she has been successful. During the week we have been attempting to be-friend him. We started by leaving a bowl of food on the back porch. Every morning and night I would fill it. He must have been very hungry for the first few days he devoured the food. Well FINALLY we had a break through. We cracked the back door open , talking to him ,trying to call him over,then.....he came up to the door. He is still a little skittis, but loving. It I was able to get a hold of him last night (01-28-08) and get him up to the vet. He came back, with a clean bill of health. The Dr. could not tell us exactly how old he is, but said he is 7 months to a year old, and weighs in at 6 lbs 1oz. We have named him Leo and he is darling
For the next week he will be staying in the basement bathroom. This way he and the other animals get used to each other. Surprisingly, the other cats are not as interested in him as we thought they would be. They come to the door, and look under it, and that is about it. Millie just wants to play. He is such a loving cat. He is still a little scared, but he is warming up nicely
